It is 2 a.m., after all.
It is 2 a.m. right now, after all, when people are said to be the most sentimental. And I cannot hold back the tears any more.
The earthquakes that hit the Northeast part of Japan were certainly frightening, and I was at a loss for words to see how the tsunami literally swept away entire towns. As I read news updates on developments in Japan, thousands of bodies being found while half the population of a town is MIA, and the nuclear plants in Fukushima exploding one after another, it terrifies me to imagine what the people there must be going through right now. Having to experience on-going earthquakes one after another is bad enough, but in addition to that they also need to worry about radiation exposure--it's supposed to rain tomorrow in Fukushima and, apparently, members of the Self-Defense Force are going around telling residents that the rain tomorrow is going to be very dangerous and so they should avoid contact with it by all means. All this while the media is more or less keeping quiet in order not to scare the already-frightened people too much.
I was listening to some of Sho's solos, because I do love his voice and I thought that would calm me down. The song that started to play was "Where is the love," originally by Black Eyed Peas and rap lyrics attached by Sho in response to 9/11. I remembered his saying at one point that 9/11 was the momentous turning point for him, when he began to pay attention to the world affairs. In a way, I think this might be the moment for me.
I can't explain it very well in words because there is just so much going on and there are too many emotions mixed together, but to think that the peace and laughter that existed could be swept away at once, in such a short amount of time... This has been the way that's been driving my decision-making process (lol) for a few years now, but it only makes me believe even more strongly that there is almost no point in making too long-term plans because you never know when life will hit you, in both good and bad ways. So all I can do is to do what I think is the best and what I want to do at that very moment, even if it might not immediately seem "logical." I should just do what I can do at that moment, enjoy it, and don't look back, for time is too limited to be constantly regretting about what I cannot change.
Yeah. Rant. Anyway, back to work.
I hope what I just wrote makes sense to me later on when I re-read this post when I'm more sane. :P
